Central New Jersey Council 2013 patch A208
2012 Jamboree Patch

2012 National Jamboree Patch
Central New Jersey Council

National Jamboree events are normally scheduled for every four years, but exceptions may occur to recognize some special event. 2013 was such a year, the 200th anniversary of Boy Scouting in the USA. National planned all kinds of activities for 2013 and arranged some practice runs in 2012. The patch shown above recognizes those Scouts and Leaders who traveled to the National Site to practice and prepare for the 2013 event.

The national Scout jamboree is a gathering, or jamboree, of thousands of members of the Boy Scouts of America, usually held every four years and organized by the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Scouts from all over the nation and world have the opportunity to attend. They are considered to be one of several unique experiences that the Boy Scouts of America offers."
David Oertle comments:
The patch is legitimate. CNJC sent a unit down in 2012 to prepare some of the facilities and help with layouts. The 2012 patch recognizes that Scouts and Leaders who helped prepare for the 2013 National Jamboree.
Al Zusman comments:
This is the patch issued and worn by Scouts and Leaders representing the Central Jersey Council. It is common for Councils to create a special Council patch for the National Jamboree events that the Council attends.
Travis Chapman comments:
The 2012 patch is from the event discussed in Scouting Magazine
